Strawberry Farms- U Pick

This is a farm where you can pick strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries and Pumpkins. The month of June is open for Strawberry picking. July is the month for raspberries and blueberries and the pumpkin grows in September and October.

We went for picking strawberries. Admission to the farm and car parking is free. They provide containers at the fields, so there is no need to bring anything for picking the berries.

Berries are sold by the pound ($1.50/lb) and are weighed when you are done picking right there in the field. They use natural fertilizers, so the berries are safe to eat right from the field!

It was a different experience for me since it was the first time I visited a fruit or vegetable farm. We went with friends. It was a sunny day and the drive to the farm was very scenic. The plants at the farm bore delicious red strawberries. They were really sweet. We and our friends plucked berries till our basket was full. We clicked many pictures and enjoyed the fruit and sunny weather. We also found few lamas near the field. They looked cute. To have our lunch we went to a nearby park. It’s called Country Fair Family Fun Park. Its a great place for kids. It has various rides and attractions for children. We didn't go inside the park but visited the Market place and gift shop. We celebrated our daughter Shriya's 3rd birthday at Seattle Children's museum this year. We had booked the Jungle Room  as we decided to do a Jungle theme Party for her. We visited the museum for the 1st time and had real fun! Party Hours: 1-3pm.  Even though we get the party room for 2 hours, the admission to the museum is open all day, ie 10 am to 5 pm. Some of the kids came in early to play and some stayed late till 5pm. Invitees: We were allowed to invite 40 people as per the capacity of the jungle room. Outback Kangaroo Farm, Arlington

I have seen Kangaroos and Wallaby's at Zoos so far. This was my first time experience with petting them and it really awesome experience for us. Apart from the Kangaroos and Wallaby, the farm has Emu, Lemurs, Llamas, alpacas, Donkey, goats, Miniature horse, peacock, roosters and chickens. The beautiful peacocks and chickens were roaming around the picnic area. The kids were having real fun watching them and eating their food. They have guided tours 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm for 45minutes each. They charge $12 per person. We took the 2pm tour and I assume its the busiest one. The tour was fun and also educational, where they talk about the different animals and we get know interesting facts about them. They have a lot of kangaroos and wallabys. An evening at Tacoma -2

Washington State History Museum   The history museum is full of informative displays and artifacts on the history of Washington. Again we got free admission to it because it was a third Thursday. The interactive exhibits displayed there are interesting both for children and adults. There were various themes which included geology, geography, industry, ethnicity, exploration, development & commerce in Washington State. The History museum is fascinating and there is plenty to see and learn. It highlighted much of the local industrial history, as well as history of the native people. I especially liked the tree whose branches were wagons, chairs, toys, door, and other items that are crafted from wood. Upstairs they have a nice model train display and had a transient bike show which is exceptional. It’s very good for kids and student. They have a good gift shop too.
