JUNGLE THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY AT SEATTLE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
We celebrated our daughter Shriya's 3rd birthday at Seattle Children's museum this year. We had booked the Jungle Room as we decided to do a Jungle theme Party for her. We visited the museum for the 1st time and had real fun!
Party Hours:
1-3pm. Even though we get the party room for 2 hours, the admission to the museum is open all day, ie 10 am to 5 pm. Some of the kids came in early to play and some stayed late till 5pm.
Invitees:
We were allowed to invite 40 people as per the capacity of the jungle room. I have invited all her class mates and their parents. We had a party of around 30 people for the birthday celebration.
Decorations:
The room itself has the jungle theme back drop and green colored tables and chairs, so really not much would be required for the decorations. I got some Mylar helium balloons, plastic animals, a leaves printed table cloth, paper leaves printed out, some jungle theme funny labels for the food.
Party Favors:
I kept zoo theme animal coloring book, crayons, pencil, animal rubbers and small plastic animals for the party favor pack.
Food:
We had Pizza, soft drinks, Juice, Cheese sticks, water melons, grapes, bananas, strawberries, pop corn, Veggie sticks and cake.
CAKE:
We ordered the cake at Costco. I did not find any animal themed cake in their catalog, so I gave them a monkey cake image and they made a custom cake for us. I later put in some plastic animals to it for additional cake decoration.
Play time at the museum:
Its a lovely place for kids 1-5 years of age. The have a lot of things to explore and activities to do. Shriya and her class mates had a blast at the museum. They were not willing to come in the party room and eat food, all they wanted is to play!! We explored every nook and corner of the museum and thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the pretend play factor there. The kids can dress up as construction workers, eye doctor, bus drives etc. The super market was super cool!
Thanks for sharing the ideas.
